MEAT LADY GAGA

Posing on the September cover of Vogue Hommes Japan, the boundary-pushing singer wears nothing but pieces of raw meat strung together to create a dress-like design. The only thing redder than her shocking look is the color of her lipstick.

Gaga Goes Guy

MAN OF THE HOUR: Lady Gaga is flexing her gender-bending muscles in the upcoming issue of Vogue Hommes Japan, which hits stands next month. The pop star graces the cover of the magazine as “Jo Calderone”- a Sicilian mechanic who favors grease-stained t-shirts and cigarettes tucked behind the ear. Images of the Nick Knight Calderone shoot made the Internet rounds months ago, prompting plenty of speculation that it was really Gaga in disguise with a 1950s-style pompadour. Stylist Nicola Formichetti reignited the buzz Wednesday when he posted a few of the black and white images as mockup covers on his blog along with a brief q and a with the pop star in character. “I'd love to own my own car shop, I have a bunch of my own ‘muscle’ cars,” quipped Calderone.

August 25, 2010

Last night was just too amazing.....there were three events one after the other.

First was the premiere social party for MAKE UP FOREVER, for professional makeup artists only. They were promoting their latest range of lipsticks called ROUGE ARTIST INTENSE, which are amazing......50 highly pigmented shades (my favorite was a violet color #15 which I think I will use in my makeup design for one of the fashion shows coming up for Spring 2011) which were truly divine. The event was held at their charming little boutique on E.12 St. just off Fifth Ave.and the place was packed with so many beautiful artists trying out all the fabulous colors. Michael DeVilles of THE POWDER GROUP invited me and didn't he look dashing in his new black and silver facial hair.

I was featuring a new look myself having recently tinted my hair a lavender silver shade. I wore a deep silver gray silk suit with a matching gray vest embroidered with purple flowers and a cravat of iridescent violet. Hmmmmm there's something about that color.....can you tell? It must be in the air, along with the rain that night.

I couldn't stay very long though as the humidity was so intense plus I needed to get to the Leslie-Lohman gallery in Soho to attend photographer MIKE RUIZ photo exhibit "TRANSFORMATIONS". The camera crews and paparazzi were in full force as I arrived interviewing Mr.Ruiz in front of giant blowups like the beauty shot above. Mike is still the most handsome guy in town and so talented. But again the heat and humidity was so overwhelming from the lovely crowd of fashionistas I was forced back outside to find some cool air.

Just in time to give a kiss to 60s Icon Linda Morand of THE SUPER MODELS HALL OF FAME before jumping into a taxi to go off to Amanda Lepore's after party at the nightclub Carnival in the "BIG TOP" room which was over flowing with freaks, geeks, and Go-Go boys all to celebrate Mike Ruiz triumphant showing.

Finally after shaking my bootay to the retro disco hits it was time for me to go-go home.

Estee Lauder announces the Blue Dahlia collection by Tom Pecheux. This collection is filled with deep blues and grays and is perfect for fall.

"The beauty of the palettes is that you can create many looks ranging from neutral to dramatic. For a neutral look, use shades 1 and 3. To add more color, blend shades 2 and 4 to your desired intensity and line the eye with shade 5. I want women to play and have fun with the colors!” – Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estée Lauder

Zsa Zsa receives last rites.....

Zsa Zsa Gabor - in extremely serious condition at a Los Angeles hospital - asked for a priest Sunday to administer last rites.

Describing the situation as "very sad," publicist John Blanchette said Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, "is at her side."

"It is a very difficult time for her family," the spokesman said.

The 93-year-old actress "has seen a priest and is not doing very well," Blanchette said. "She asked to see a priest and receive her last rites."

Gabor, a Hollywood legend, emigrated from Hungary with her two sisters, Eva and Magda, who also were actresses. Eva died in 1995, and Magda in 1997.

After being rushed to the hospital Friday with bleeding and pain, Zsa Zsa Gabor underwent surgery for several hours to remove blood clots, one of
which was close to her heart, Blanchette said.

Gabor, who was partially paralyzed in a 2002 car accident, fell out of bed on July 17, breaking her hip.

She had recently undergone hip replacement surgery and had just returned home from the hospital Wednesday.

Zsa Zsa Gabor has decided to spend her final days at her Bel Air home after declining to undergo any more surgery, her publicist said.

Highlight and gloss in one pencil by Smashbox

This ultra-creamy, double-ended highlighter and gloss stick adds fullness and pout to your lips while drenching them with vitamin-packed moisture and shine. Use the side labeled “highlight” to plump up your pout by dabbing just under the lower lip and at the cupid’s bow. Then add fullness and shine by drenching the center of the lower lip with the glossy side labeled “pout.”

HERE COME THE JUDGE

"What do YOU think about Jennifer Lopez replacing Ellen Degeneres on American Idol? According to Nikki Finke, it’s a done deal whether you like it or not, and both parties seem quite happy. Ellen wanted OUT of her contract a year before it was up- she said doing the show was no fun. Jennifer’s career can use a boost, PLUS she knows a bit more about singing that Ellen does. Jennifer’s diva-ish glamour will also add a visual element to the judges panel."

I hope this is true as I love La Lopez!

ARNOLD SCAASI CLOSING DOORS

AFTER 55 years in the dress business, Arnold Scaasi announced on Monday that he is hanging up his shears and closing his made-to-order dress business.
Never mind that, for all intents and purposes, Mr. Scaasi has long been removed from the heavy action of Fashion Week, or that he is perhaps more broadly known today for selling costume jewelry on HSN and for criticizing Michelle Obama’s style. From his perch at 16 East 52nd Street, where he kept about 18 employees, the designer (who dressed five first ladies during his career) had continued quietly making custom gowns, about 20 each month, for a coterie of devoted clients.

NUDE IS NEWS........

Is flesh more interesting than designer clothes?

It would seem so, after seeing this V cover recently.

“Sexiness and fashion are converging,” said Stephen Gan, editor in chief and creative director of V, whose “Sexy Body” issue hit newsstands this month and features five partly clothed models. While the magazine’s logo strategically shields the more intimate parts of the likes of Isabeli Fontana and Adriana Lima, subscribers get limited edition scratch-off covers.
