In 1952 when the beauty giant launched the Fire & Ice collection ad campaign featuring "It Girl" Dorian Leigh, the model's jet-black hair and striking red lips and nails set against a dazzling silver sequined gown triggered a hailstorm of copycats. Karen Elson famous red-head.........

British supermodel Karen Elson has actress Christina Hendricks to thank for her success.

Elson confirmed that it was Hendricks, who modeled in the 1990s, encouraged her to dye her hair red.

Earlier this year, the flame-haired 'Mad Men' star told Harper's Bazaar that she gave Elson the inspiration, as well as her magic hair color formula, that shot the British beauty to the top.

Elson confirmed it to the Cut at Women's Wear Daily 100th anniversary party.

“We did a shoot together and I remember her beautiful red hair, and I had the worst sort of strawberry blonde mousy hair, and she was like, 'Here, you should dye your hair red, it's going to work for you.'"

Hendricks says that she is a natural blonde.

The 31-year-old Elson has been modeling since she was a teenager, winning 1998 Model of the Year at the VH1 Fashion Awards.

In January 2010, she replaced Angelina Jolie as the face the fashion house St. John.

Elson's main passion is her music.

Naomi Campbell lied under oath, claims former agent

Naomi Campbell's former agent, Carole White, wants the supermodel to be investigated by the Manhattan DA for possible perjury, claiming she lied under oath in an affidavit. White's company is suing Campbell for allegedly backing out of a perfume deal and stiffing her on commissions.

Campbell is countersuing, claiming White misrepresented her role in fragrance company Moodform Mission. The Post's Dareh Gregorian reports Moodform's lawyer, Daniel Bright, is now asking the judge to refer the case to the DA for possible criminal prosecution. Campbell's lawyer "unequivocally" denied the charge.

Tom Ford tells Jean Pigozzi he's too fat for his store

Tom Ford told towering Italian investor/photographer Jean Pigozzi that he doesn't want his giant kind at his boutique. The 6-foot-4, size XXL Pigozzi relates to Ingrid Sischy in Vanity Fair's December issue that he told Ford after visiting his men's store, "Tom, I went to your shop. I couldn't buy a handkerchief. Tom said, 'You know why? I don't want big fat guys like you in my shop' . . . But I think he's making a mistake because big guys like me have the money." Pigozzi recently launched his colorful men's casual wear, LimoLand, with a boutique in the Meatpacking District.

If you thought Katy Perry was purr-fect before, you ain't seen nothing yet.

The singer struts her stuff in a feline-inspired ad campaign for her upcoming fragrance, Purr.

Perry, who is reportedly set to wed the funnyman Russell Brand later this month, donned a purple and pink leopard-spotted catsuit and fondled a large ball of hot pink yarn for the shoot.

The ads were inspired by the perfume's cat-shaped bottle, according to the UK's Daily Mail.

Purr, Perry's first scent, is slated to be released in November. Meow!

Jennifer Lopez is presenting her new fragrance Love & Glamour which arrives on the market this Fall.
Love & Glamour was created by Honorine Blanc and Harry Fremont of Firmenich in cooperation with Lopez.

Composition opens with notes of Italian mandarin, guava and nectarine pulp. A heart incorporates water lily, coconut orchid, orange blossom absolute and jasmine petals, while a base finishes with sandalwood, sensual musk and amber. While the fragrance was being created and developed, Lopez asked the perfumers to accentuate sandalwood at least a bit more and to make the fragrance a bit sexier…

Supermodel Linda Evangelista has split with billionaire Hard Rock founder Peter Morton, sources tell Page Six.

The Canadian beauty, 45 -- who famously once declared that she and other supermodels "don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day" -- and Morton, 64, broke up at the end of the summer after a series of disagreements, we're told.

One family source said, "Peter is very settled in Malibu and loves LA, while Linda liked to spend time in Canada and with her friends in New York. Like all supermodels, she is high-maintenance and likes to be treated like a princess." Who doesn't?!

"The trouble started Saturday morning when CBS star Margulies, who was named L'Oreal's brand ambassador last month, arrived to do a TV commercial at Studio 59, the photography and film studio next to Pier 59 on the West Side Highway.

After arriving on time, Margulies was forced to cool her heels for over two hours because Weisz's shoot was in progress but behind schedule. One source close to L'Oreal says the plan called for Weisz and Margulies to rotate through the makeup and production process in short order."

Someone should have known not to book two major stars on the same day!
But my guess is it was the only time they could coordinate both of the actresses busy schedules. Oh well, these things happen and I'm sure both diva's acted like the professionals they are and got their jobs done beautifully.
